not your average pizza
Thankfully, I had on hand the necessary ingredients for a perfectly decadent pizza. Twenty minutes later, I'm sitting here at my kitchen counter, snacking on pizza and sharing the recipe with you.
Beekman 1802 fame, via Martha Stewart. The Blaak Onion Jam is theirs and it is divine. I highly recommend stocking your pantry with at least 2 or 3 of these jars as soon as possible. You can also find the recipe for their fabulous jam here.
Decadent Pizza in 20 minutes
1 frozen pizza crust - I prefer Udi's gluten free crusts, a thin crust with a nice balance of flavor.
1 jar Blaak onion jam
4 strips of bacon. Cook in frying pan until barely crispy. I use Applewood Sunday Bacon, it is quite lean, organic, and free of nitrates and antibiotics.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
Place frozen pizza crust on cookie sheet or pizza pan.
Spread onion jam on pizza crust.
Tear bacon into bite size pieces and distribute evenly over the jam covered crust.
Crumble blue cheese over top of jam and bacon. One can use as little or as much cheese as one likes.
Bake until cheese is melted and just bubbling. Remove from oven, let cool, and then eat until your hearts content!
